Study Suggests Congenital Toxin Exposure Impacts Autism

Genital deformities in newborn males may correlate with higher rates of autism and intellectual disability. Although autism and intellectual disability are partly genetic, environmental causes are believed to play a role as well. Research has shown that male fetuses are particularly sensitive to toxins found in the environment including lead, sex hormone analogs, medications and other synthetics.
