Parkinson’s Disease and Residential Exposure to Maneb and Paraquat From Agricultural Applications

Research supports evidence from animal and cell models that suggests pesticides cause a neurodegenerative process leading to Parkinson's disease (PD). This study outlines exposure to a combination of maneb and paraquat and provides evidence that these chemicals increase the risk of PD, particularly in younger subjects and/or when exposure occurs at younger ages.
