Minnesota Bans Anti-bacterial Chemical from Soaps

Minnesota has banned a widely used germ-killing ingredient found in soaps, deodorants and even toothpaste—triclosan. The bill was passed due to health and environmental concerns about the chemical. The ban takes effect Jan. 1, 2017, but officials predict that most manufacturers will phase out triclosan by then anyway.
